INSTRUCTIONS FOR PITMAN ARM PULLER-JOINT REMOVAL TOOL

Pitman-Tie Rod Puller

For removing pitman arms from steering box.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Always wear safety glasses and gloves.

1. Lubricate pressure screw before using.

2. Remove fastener nut holding pitman arm on steering

sector shaft.

3. Select correct puller sliding legs (A) over pitman arm.

4. Center pressure screw (B) over sector shaft.

5. Using 17mm or 11⁄16” open end wrench, tighten pressure

screw (B) enough to apply a hard preload on the Pitman

arm.

6. Using a hammer, strike the “ball part” of pressure screw

(B) until the Pitman arm comes off.
